Thorpe township, Hubbard County, Minnesota (MN) Detailed Profile I’ve been looking at a lot of travel magazines as part of an assignment for my Thesis Writing Workshop. The similarity in the ways that destinations are depicted in these publications made me curious about what the most ‘boring’ city in the world might be. What would be the absolute converse destination to Paris? According to this survey on at Answerbag.com, Thorpe Township, MN, population 37 (as of the 2000 census) takes the cake. As the respondant put it, ‘When I drove through it in 1984. there were two mobile homes, a grain elevator, and a gas pump.’ What sort of imagery or icons might there be of a place like this? Perhaps it would be fun to do a case study of Thorpe through the tourist lens.
